a tornado -- we were taking a break from unloading the truck, we looked out the back door ... and there it was!

another view. It was over on the other side of town, touched down, threw some gravel, and dissapated. Just a little extra excitement.

tired dog! this moving stuff really wears a poor old dog out. At least they finally got the bed put together, so it's time for a snooze!

The snowstorm pictures! added February 10, 1999

They told us "it hardly ever snows in Snowflake." Yep, that's what they told us all right. A few snowflakes! It was minus 2 degrees that morning.

Southern California Dog, "Hey, what is this stuff?!?!?"

About five inches is what it was.

More Moving Pictures! added February 10, 1999

Playing Tourist! added February 10, 1999

Painted Desert, just up the road.

Petrified Forest, I'm thinking these trees aren't petrified, they're frozen solid!

Jim, wasn't able to get free to help move, but he came over later to visit -- here he is in the Petrified Forest.

It's raining! Five little goats came for a visit on Thursday, then it started raining, so they got up on the pourch to get out of the downpour. When it quit they went home.

The Goats -- the one on the right is the ring-leader, the other four were just following ....

Got a nice swing here!

Afternoon of August 2, 1999

Storm coming from the NorthEast.

Storm almost over rainbow forming.

Storm over nifty rainbow.

Later that day we get another one of those spectacular sunsets we have with regular frequency here. The rain kind of helped, too, don't you think?

Another view of that sunset.

August 5, 1999

We were awakened that morning by the dog raising a ruckus. I got up to see what was the matter, and heard "baaaaa"-ing noises from the front pourch. "The goats are back" I thought, and opened the door to see where they were. Instead of goats, there, sitting in the swing, were Jim, Barbara, and Robert. "The KIDS are back!" they yelled. I went back inside and shut the door. Then I went in to tell Patricia what I'd seen. She thought either she was dreaming or else I was hallucinating. However, it was the kids, come for a surprise visit.

Robert & Jim finishing building the fence. They didn't just come to visit, they came to work. And they did. Worked hard!

Robert & Jim working on the corner.

Tired! Hot! Resting!

Barbara worked on weeding until the altitude (6,000-feet) got to her.

August 8, 1999

It wasn't all work, though, we went to visit the Raven Site Indian Ruins near Springerville, on the Little Colorado River.

Barbara finds a new friend outside the Museum shop.

Barbara & Robert standing atop the model showing what one of the Pueblo room-clusters looked like 400 years ago (or was it 600 years ago? -- I forget).

It was an absolutely stunning location. So stunning I hardly took any pictures due to spending so much time gawking!
